What sort of style do you normally perform?

I go for a mind reading type of style.

I'd certainly consider using something more ordinary and everyday than a poker chip.

If the presentation was gambling related I would strong disagree; if the presentation is going to be how being a so called mind reader or Mentalist is advantageous in a card game it could play well.

If you however want to go down the serious mentalism route, perhaps a different revelation would be in order. You could even use it as part of a one ahead style routine, if I am right in the method.

Fair point. If it is still a gambling related routine, then it's fine... I was thinking though that the idea was about changing the presentation...

Either way, it's a very nice piece of magic!

I have had the thought about after showing the five cards i tell the spectator to turn away while i mix the cards round then ask them to put maybe a ring or a personal item of there's on what they think is the 9 of spades then cleaning up whilst asking them to reveal what they chose.
