Haunted deck?

Postby Magus » Apr 15th, '12, 22:59

Hi folks,

I like the idea of the haunted deck and I realize there are several versions out there. Is this effect suitable for a novice and if I was to buy one what would be the best recommendation please? I was reading about Spooked and it gets great reviews although I,my not sure if it is still available.

Thanks in advance for any pointers or advice.

Shaun.

The version you choose will depend on the venue you may perform at.
In a bar with just friends or 2 or 3 onlookers--it will possible be on the floor. Not for me.
If normal close up--it will be on a table.

Don't just JUMP at what the magicians all call--'The Latest'.

Go back to the original Al Baker method.

and my favourite--one that Paul Curry put out (in one of his books--cannot remember the title)
A card is selected--returned to the deck. The deck is placed in a small plastic (transparent) bag.
The card crawls out of the deck.
No expense-- a deck of cards, a plastic bag-- a length of IT and a small slit in the card.
Work it out.

I hate things on the floor. And totally dislike cards that just JUMP or spring out of the deck
With these--where is the mystery?? Where is the wonder??--Where is the Magic??.

It's not for no reason that Allen has our one and only 'Magical Maestro' status

Thanks again Allen, I was looking up Paul Curry online but apart from the odd mention on magic cafe I can't find much info on his haunted deck.

I didn't realise he was the inventor of 'Out Of This World' I always enjoy seeing that one done well.
