Postby LambertClan2006 » Jun 26th, '12, 03:37

Just made a new website to try to drum up some business. I haven't gotten any magic posted on there yet, just my balloon stuff. Let me know what you think.

Thanks,

Hello Dave. Thoughts on your new web site!

Clearly you are aiming at children's shows so I feel that the basic black is far too dull and that bright cheerful colours would suit better. Try a background of yellow for instance. Try also making the entire layout more colourful. Remember that, more than likely, parents will show their children various sites of entertainers and ask the youngsters to choose. . . Bright cheerful colours will excite and interest youngsters a lot more.

Your home page certainly contains to much script and the font is also too small. Who will want to read all that? Even when I enlarged the page to fill my monitor I could not read it easily.

Your home page wants to emphasise all that you can do to entertain the children or whoever you are aiming at. Your sales patter in other words. All your displayed script can go on a separate page such as 'About me!' If you really need to have such material on your home page then condense it a great deal and make the font larger. The slide show is certainly fine and is the best part.

I'm not over keen on your page heading banners. Have a look at many other entertainers to see what they use. I assume you have taken templates from the web site package you are using. Generally the page headings should all be the same. It's not a rule of course, but it's a good guideline. Just think that if you wrote letter to clients and ever letter page had a different heading . . . . .

I hope you wont mind me expressing my views and you may well find other folk will agree on lots of my pointers.

Try again, firstly make the general layout far more bright & cheerful, then by all means come back to this forum with your updated design.

All the best and we look forward to your update. Mark.

It's me again Dave.
I forgot to mention that your shown telephone number of (941) 237-7803 is a bit baffling to me. Perhaps I'm just old! Mark.

Two things stick out for me. On your home page there is a picture of you without a shirt. Get rid of it - that does not sell a children's entertainer.

Also, there is a huge amount of information about you and your life, and no information on what you can do for the booker. That is all they care about. So get rid of the About Me and replace it with What I Can Do To Make Your Event Special (but come up with a snappier heading!)
