What book/dvd to buy

Postby craigie » Aug 1st, '12, 21:11

Im getting a bit bored of buying the latest and greatest (rubbish) releases for close up and falling for the hype etc. Just got paid so looking for a comedy/stand up dvd to get the hamster wheel in the head going. Can anyone recommend any good ones, been thinking of Mel Mellars any others?

Thanks im advance :o

There are 5 Mel Mellors DVDs I have. All the material is simple and very usable.

You will not be able to use his style though--just adapt the material to your own.

Tomorrow I will list the contents of each DVD for you.
Busy tonight.
An ex member of our Theatre Company for lunch tomorrow .
After that I will type the lists out for you

Here craige are the other 2 Mel Mellors DVDS.
Not sure if he ever did any more--I felt 5 was enough for my Library and I rarely buy DVDS--it has to be, & alwasy was- books with me.

But Mel Mellor's effects are I felt very commercial for the right performer. i.e -- a performer who has an excellent audience performing personality, enjoys comedy with mystery and likes people.

Feather Flea Routine: A Flea (invisible) lifts a large feather.

MODERN MARVELS Volume 2. 1 hour 31 minutes

Bottle Opener: The Norm Nielson Vanishing Bottle.

You Could Be: T & R Newspaper with logical patter.

Hands Off: 10 minute comedy routine with a spectator as a glamorous assistant
while the magician cuts off another spectator’s hand!
