It's probably possible to do, but without giving anything away, you need the cards to be exactly the right size.
I also tried changing the outer card case of an original Extractor, but made a bit of a mess of that as well. I know where I went wrong and the actual workings of the Extractor are fine, so I might have another go at changing the outer case.

If you're trying to make your own without having bought the original though you might have copyright issues on your hands. It's easier to just buy the thing.
