If it really is the end of
this month, I am inclined to agree wholeheartedly.
If, in fact, you have a month, consider doing some tricks that have the flavour of Bond. As you say, many of the guests won't have a detailed knowledge of each film or book. By the time you've said "
Live and Let Die deals with a criminal who uses voodoo to..." you've probably lost them. But you could do a living and dead test. Get them to write down the names of four friends and then to think of a fictional agent and write that name too. You can tie it in to
Live and Let Die by saying he's been fed to sharks and you'll determine which four are still alive, or just do it as one of the skills an agent needs to survive; the ability to spot a phoney name (or their lying).
Other things associated with James Bond: Martinis, shaken, not stirred. There's a lovely chop cup out at the moment that is designed to look like a cocktail shaker. Appearing drinks might fit the bill too. It sounds like a walkaround gig, so that might not be feasible (at least not to every group).
You might be able to do something with the old drink selection trick (cards with different drinks on each, you get them to pretend to be a villain and "pick a poison" signature drink for him or her, then work out what it is). Hmm, thinking about it some more, Bond is a bit of a womaniser, so why not make it that you can work out what the specator's favourite drink is, as an ice breaker? Do it with drink cards (I am sure you can work out more than one way) or maybe use some mentalism techniques and get her to write down what she likes, or check off a drink from a bar menu.
Fast cars might give you something to work with, such as a trick where you get them to describe a make of car, a colour, and a gadget it's fitted with. Then you produce a Q Branch requisition form for just such a car, such as a red Honda Civic with an EMP generator.
Exotic locations play a big part in the Bond films, so any tricks you have about travel/foreign destinations could be adapted.
I have realised that much of what I have suggested has a mentalism slant. Sorry if that's not helpful to you!
