Hi. I thought I'd just answer a few questions about myself to see if anyone has similar interests.

I live in lower Manhattan in New York City, just north of City Hall. I am a mere painter and occasional ham actor.

For the past couple of years my favorite book on conjuring has been Eugene Burger's "Mastering the Art of Magic." If you've read it, you'll understand why I believe I'll never need another book on the subject of close-up. Unless, that is, it's one by Phil Goldstein, another favorite. Oh, and I shouldn't forget Aldo Colombini and Mac King. I love Aldo's rope routines.

My heroes are Orson Welles and Luis Bunuel, spectacular magicians each in their own ways.

Stay warm, and thanks for listening.

We get some good TV coverage of the extreme weather in the US and New York is a regular sight at this time of year - mountains of snow moved onto the sidewalk to keep the roads clear etc. If we get more than 4 flakes of snow here all the airports close, the trains stop where they are and all the shops run out of everything. Hang on a sec, with all this talk of the cold, I'll have to turn the heating up several notches!
