Cards for Flourishes

Postby morrowsean » Dec 11th, '12, 23:32

What's the best cards to perform Flourishes with, like Dan & Dave Bucks material etc.

The cards look brand new but still are really bendy and smooth. Do you recommend breaking in a deck 1st or straight out the box?

I find the Pressure fan really difficult with either brand new or Worn in Cards.
Brand New they are hard to bend and not very flexible, and when they are worn in they seem to lose their smoothness.

I use either Standard Bicycle or Tally Ho Decks.

Cheers!

I use standard bikes and they need to be a bit used. The general rule of thumb is; whatever works best for you.

There are decks should specifically for card manipulation which may be of use. Also there is powder you can get called fanning powder, I haven;t used it but I guess it does exactly what it says on the tin

The problem with fanning powder is it takes a bit of time, effort and expense to give a bit of new life into an older deck.
It's more efficient to just get a new deck!

The fancy design decks you see folk using are just that, fancy designs, generally on the same stock as your standard bikes.
If you want to use something that looks different, do it; but there's little in the quality that will change from your standard USPCCs. It's all just part of the presentation really.

Fanning poweder is for card manipulation work, but not floushes like Dave and Dan Buck, but for manipulation like Juliana Chen and Cardini.

Also it does tend to kill the life of the cards.
