Charity gigs

Postby Aza » Dec 17th, '12, 00:11

Right well I'm getting more and more booked up, which is wonderful for the ego and the wallet, the website has been designed and is almost live and my Facebook, twitter etc. are all filling up nicely.

I have a close up set that I am happy with, and can easily perform two hours worth of material that is top quality entertainment so I can now settle for charging reasonable "pro" rate.

Now I have rambled enough, I want to raise my profile and do some charity events, I don't currently support any charity, so was wondering if anybody would like to suggest a charity dear to them that I could offer my services to, thing is I love doing magic and if I could afford to not be paid for it I would. Which is why I'm going to do the charity functions...if anybody suggests one or two that is

Much love

Why don't you pick a charity you support?

Invoke not reason. In the end it is too small a deity.

I don't support any....I don't have any connection with any whatsoever and feel completely indifferent toward them all, if there was one close to some bodies heart here i would gladly support it.....

Much love

I always love to support small local charities, they often have to work very hard for anything that they raise so will always be so grateful for anything that you can do for them. What's in your area, a local homeless charity perhaps or a community project?

Agree 100%
Help the little guys. Grab a local paper and see if there's a notice of a local fundraising event on, then see if they want a magician along.

Thirde-d - find a local charity.

I've done some work for a National Children's Charity, and a local hospice - that the only one's I do for free / reduced and I stick to those because (word of warning) if people know you work for free, then every church group, community group, youth project, after school club etc... will say that they a charity - and not to be cynical about it, but if people are holding an event then they should have budgeted for entertainment.
