Definitely find a deck of cards you like, shop around. I was a pure bicycle user for 8 years until I played with Tally Ho. Then I used those almost exclusively for 5 years, and for the past while switched back to bicycles. Tally Hos have a slightly thicker card stock. This helps them to last longer. But, this can also make it slightly awkward if you are doing complicated sleights. Also you might notice that some cards have different coatings on them. I have found that the coating on bicycles can cause them to break/cut the deck when I don't want them to or otherwise be too slick. Also, bicycles sometimes come out of the box with a very slight lengthwise bend that makes card handling annoying, especially when that combines with the previous coating issue. Who would have ever thought so much would go into card selection!
Also, I don't know what I was thinking and gave you a bad suggestion! That last trick is likely not a variation of Triumph. My old brain is disorganized with magic knowledge at this point I guess. Triumph is a trick where the deck is shuffled with some face up and face down and they magically right themselves. It also has more variations that I do old decks of cards! Now, there is a trick called Oil and Water where you have about 10 cards, equal red and blacks. And each time you shuffle them they stay separated as red/black. Although, you probably saw a trick called Out Of This World. Which, has just as many variations and overall methods as Triumph. I personally love Kentons DVD set, Trick Deck Real Deck. In it, there is an amazing version of OOTW that uses any deck. It isn't for the faint of heart though.
Again, sorry for the slip of the mind! Hope that helps.
