Advice about Korans Linking Ring ending

Postby sammy_789 » Jan 15th, '13, 00:29

I have resently been working on a linking finger ring routine and discovered korans beautiful ending (the pencil, as seen on David Regals release "linking finger ring project")

Now i have discovered a gent who can sell me the pencil for £25, not having a certain idea of method not sure if this is worth my money. And this is what i ask?

He is selling to me with Korans gimmicked ring also but no instructions.

Another question is could i use my standard himber ring with this pencil?

And will i need instructions?

Thanks guys for your help. Basically any info on Korans ending would help...

Sam (By the way happy belated new year all)

I don't do this effect and I speak with no authority whatsoever. However, what I do know is that the method you mention is taught on Richard Osterlinds mind mysteries DVD volume one. He links numerous rings together. The method uses a himber ring and a pencil. He offers what appear to be some excellent handling tips! I recall that the pencil has to be of a certain type but certainly not £25.00 worth. More like 25p. If you're interested in a deeper explanation (without tipping the method obviously) just PM me and I'll watch the DVD and let you know a bit more detail. If you already own a himber ring then all you need is a pencil and the handling. Of course, you'd have to buy the DVD but at least you'd get alot more effects for your money and some great instruction.

you don't even need a pen or pencil. you can openly borrow one if there is one around.

you're like Yoda.you dont say much, but what you do say is worth listening to....

Martin Breese published a book called "Koran's Legacy" or something. I forget the actual title. His whole linking finger ring routine is there with full description of the pencil in question. And there is a lot of other great material in the book too.

If you are talking about the original Koran linking ring routine using a pencil and three borrowed rings then the pencil is just an ordinary one which you can gimmick yourself very easily in a few minutes.

The original didn't use a Himber ring but a much simpler gimmicked ring, if your Himber is a basic wedding band type ring you should be able to use it in place of the original gimmick.

Edit: I should say the routine is everything with this effect, if it doesn't have the original Koran instructions I would think twice about buying.

I should just buy the Martin Breese book instead. I don't know what the price is but it can't be that bad. And you get a load of other wonderful material too. What is in the book are the original instructions.

I just discovered at the 'green place' that Koran did have a special mechanical pencil for the 'real work' of this routine, only a few people knew of it at the time, Pete Biro and Bruce Cervon being two of them.

So maybe you should ask if this is the mechanical pencil rather than the 'do it yourself' version. According to Pete Biro, using the mechanical pencil is the best ending to the effect possible.

yer iv tryed asking the guy but he seems to always avoid the question. Which is soo damn annoying as i love this ending, did i mention that i was considering buying a china version (counterfit) of "ghostly finger rings" just to use the special pencil but i want to honour Pete Biro and co, but just dont have the cash for his version, and i know the counterfit version will just fall apart. OH what to do??

After seeing the Koran ending JUST unlinking the rings normally via my normal routine, thou gets great reactions its just....

many thanks for all help guys

Sam
