Erdnase bottom deal

Postby CardManipulator » Feb 22nd, '13, 21:31

Hey guys, I hope you can tell me some tips about bottom deal.
The problem is whenever I try to push out the bottom card I suddenly release the whole deck, well not really release but it starts to slip from my hand.
I don't have any problems at taking the card, only at pushing it out.
I don't know is it my grip or something else.
Do I have to always apply pressure with second finger and thumb or is it only when I do bottom deal.
Thanks

It could be that as you begin to execute the technique you are dipping the side of the deck down. Try to keep the deck on a horizontal plane as you deal. This will prevent the cards from slipping out.

I don't know is it because of that, but I somehow managed to do it(I think it's just matter of practice).
One more question: I bent the card when pushing it out, should it stay crimped or should it be back in normal?
Thanks

Normal. Your hands are too tense. Regular practice will overcome this.

Practice and re-read Erdnase to ensure you have the correct grip

I think I have right grip because I own Jason England 1 on 1 bottom deal and I saw a lot of people doing good bottoms with the same grip, my problem is whenever I do a bottom I change my grip somehow and then I have to rearange the deck with both hands before I do another bottom deal.

I hate to say it, but a lot of this is about practice and experimenting. Because all our hands are different, as well as our minds the best the book or dvd can ever do is be a guide.

One more question about Erdnase bottom deal when do I push out the card?Is it during the deal I want to deal that card or a couple deals before?
I hope you understand what I mean...

Thanks
