Ok, this is gonna sound real stupid to some of you, but what is a leyman?

Not stupid at all. A layman is someone with no knowledge of magic principles (Joe Public basically) so you could get away with certain tricks with laymen, but a fellow magician aint gonna be so easily fooled!
