Bendy spoons

I can't imagine there isn't a thread on this already but I couldn't find one - and I've drank two glasses of Rose so I can't try any harder!!

I've been chatting to Beardy on the subject of spoonbending. He's been most helpful and I'm eternaly grateful for his advice. We got onto the subject of which spoons are the best for bending. This came up:

http://www.worldmagicshop.com/Liquid_Fo ... dforks.htm

To cut a long story short you get 50 custom forks for £20.00. Now I'm not a mathematical genius but I reckon that to be 40 pence per fork. Based on my current spoon bending ability I reckon an initial outlay of about £6 grand to practice  After that, it's 40p per performance which seems reasonable.

My question is really one of research. Does anyone else have a favoured fork, a favoured supplier, any bulk buying offers to blow the mind? I'm sure Uri didn't pay 40P per fork. - But I guess it doesn't matter where he bought them from as he was using his mind to bend them - not cheating like me!! ;)

All thoughts welcome - and once again thanks to Beardy for his advice!! He's been moving house and still found the time to respond to my constant harassment!! :D

I did use forks from poundland but they changed their supplier and I wasn't keen on the properties of the new alloy.
I reviewed the liquid forks here:

If you shop around catering suppliers you can find what you need.
I like the liquid forks, they are a bit more that the really cheap forks but still pretty darn cheap!

Awesome! Thanks for that - a very nice review!!! I've decided that a perfect performance of liquid metal is my 2013 challenge so I want to get things right. I take it these are the forks that you still use in performance??

There are several old cutlery bending threads on TM, one of them is so old it included the assurance that forks & spoons from Woolworth's were the best to use! Check out any of the 'own brand' ranges from TESCO, Wilkinson's, ASDA and similar places as well as the Pound shops. The last set of forks I bought ( about 18 months ago ) were 6 for £1.25 - about 21p each. I think they were from Wilkinson's but can't be sure as I used them all and don't have the bag or wrapper to check, sorry.

The most recent TESCO and ASDA own brand ones I've tried had a very thick stem which is worth considering in terms of their usefulness...
