What might help is a description of what you are supposed to see. You should be able to work it out from that, but if not, then Mandrake's right and we can't explain the exact method.
The magician shows two silks, usually the same colour (for example red). These two silks are knotted together at one corner. They are then draped over the back of a chair, put into a hat, tucked into a glass, with the knots out of sight.
The magician then vanishes another silk of a different colour (white or blue). Where's the silk gone?
The magician walks over to the knotted silks and grabs one in each hand. He pulls his hands apart, showing that the vanished silk is now tied between the other two. The blue silk has travelled invisibly to the knotted silks and has also tied itself between them.
