4 ace effect

Postby Relish » Jun 22nd, '13, 19:54

I'm currently putting some of my tricks into routines, and at one point I am going from Aldo Colombini's Contact Colours into Paul Harris's version of OOTW.

I was thinking then that after the 4 ace production, it seems a waste not to do something with them before going on to the next effect.

I've been considering Twisting the Aces or Dr Daley's last stand, but thought i'd see if any TMers could point me in the direction of any other routines that use 4 aces (or 4 cards of different suits).

cheers guys and girls

:D

There must be hundreds of effects which use a four of a kind, so I'm sure you'll get plenty of suggestions.

The two you mentioned - Twisting the Aces and Dr Daleys - are good ones which I use regularly. Apex Ace is also a favourite of mine - if you're not familiar with the effect, the aces vanish one at a time and are found reversed in the middle of the deck. There is also a version with three selections sandwiched between the aces (a collectors effect). I use one selection with some modifications to the handling (the original procedure doesn't work for one selection).

Its definitely a good idea to do something with the aces after their production, otherwise it makes no sense to produce them in the first place.

I've actually just seen a new effect from Richard sanders called ACE on YouTube , It makes a great visual 4 ace production in the spectators hands, I'm sure you could reverse the process and instead make the 4 aces change into 4 desperate cards Check it out and see what you think bud.

A great routine I've been playing with which uses 4 aces is `backup plan` which comes with a couple of other (great) routines which, (not to overhype ellusionist) is a bargain at $10.

Hope this helps. Just remember to choose material based on your character, not just on "wow" factor. :)

Make it a 4 Kings production and you can go in to a 'Cannibal Cards' routine (there are a couple of nice ones in Card College).
