Laminating your favourite packet trick?

Postby Takashikun » Mar 13th, '05, 14:39

Hi,

Has anyone ever thought of laminating your packet trick? I'm thinking of wrapping up my Ultimate Three Card Monte since I'm its die-hard fan. I have two sets already and one has already started to wear out out of heavy use. I put it in a case and always wash my hand before using it and wipe off the surface when I'm back home (I know its strange, but mark well the word "die-hard"...hehe), but being my pet trick, it can't be helped that they get worn out; therefore comes the thought of laminating them so that they'd be dirt-resistant.

Do you think I'm foolish??? hmmm

But it costs $20 for laminating only THREE cards.....uh...better get the refill for the cards, eh? They're $5 each. so....but still.

as a kid-taner i have often a4'ed packet tricks and laminated them with my own laminator and can recomend it.
i have even laminated a few special cards ie the lion to lady trick from lunybin which has given it great ware value.

some packet tricks by there very nature are ideal candidates for laminating especialy if they are presented as a packet trick and not added to a deck so i say if you use it often as a packet trick laminate it and give it a try so long as it dosnt effect the handleing to much.

As an aside - when I buy a packet trick, I take some blank-faced / double-blank cards and make up (very) rough copies of the cards.

I can then use these for practising without wearing out the originals.
