i live in gosport,
do you know of any magic shops in the southern region?.
there are plenty on the net, but i would like to see them in a shop setting.
the nearest i have found is in london.
i do not mind traveling.

Lot's of people have asked about local magic shops, and there have not been very many replies at all, so I have decided to make a list of all the magic stores in the uk. If everyone could tell me the location and some details of the shops they use and web pages or e-mail addresses for them that would be good.
nadj1@le.ac.uk please. when I have put the list on-line I will tell you where it is.
Nick

:Di live in lee, practicly gosport.
i had to go to blackpool to find a real magic shop (u-needus not on your life).
toy shops just don't cut it im afraid.
port solent has a toy shop who sells marvines magic, and some french stuff mostly cards.
i have regularly baggered them on behalf of fellow magicians for better gear, apparently they have a catalouge of good stuff.
will let you know if i can wear them down.
they now stock modeling balloons proper qualex ones.
one day when my bussines is bigger i think i'll open a shop in lee to take bookings and sell props.
any investers out there, i have a widening market to fill  :?: :!:

There are remarkably few walk-in magic stores in the UK. In Gosport, you are somewhere between the one in Plymouth and the two in London.

Merchant of Magic www.magicshop.co.uk is based in Waterlooville (just north of Gosport) Currently the magic studio is open by appointment only as we focus on mail order, but next month it moves to its new retail shop on Brambles Business Park Waterlooville, and will be open without appointment.

For the last 6 years we have kept the business mail order, but now due to grown of the business, have had to move to a much bigger unit, so have the room to include the retail shop too.

The new shop will not only allow customers to browse 5000 magic effects in stock, with 2 full time demonstrators, but will also hold workshops and lectures throughout the year. We have already done quite a few deals with celeb performers who will be doing 'guest' days to dem in the shop.

Adverts will appear in a couple of weeks time, when we approach the opening day, and we will run a whole range of special offers on opening day.

Sorry for the advert, but he did ask! :)

Hope this helps

Dominic

Shame you Dom, for blatant self promotion!!!

(what time did you open again? )

That's a great plan, and I wish you the best of luck. Any beginners or pros alike would DEFINATELY benefit from the demo-ers.

Great!

Lol :) Had to get in early, to catch up with 'Push Thru 2' orders, Myself and the warehouse manager were packing until 2am last night!

yeah, been putting it off for a few years now, but as anyone who has been to our current studio knows, we are up to the ceiling with magic, so just had to move to a bigger unit.

Got the shop fitters in over the next two weeks making the counter and fitting the warehouse, so hopefully it will all be ready in the second week of April.
