Palming a key

Postby Jeremy » Mar 30th, '05, 07:22

where in the hand do you all find is best to palm a key?

I am working on Sankey's "leaving home." I got the idea, but I cannot decide on what would be the best handling as I have never worked with keys before.

Where in the hand would you suggest I palm?

I've have this effect on his Very Best of DVDs. I'm pretty sure that when Sankey teaches it he does it with the key in finger-palm. It's either that or just a fingertip rest, but I think it's a fp. I'll check and get back to you if I'm wrong. I never fancied putting in the time to learn the striking vanish myself but it's a very nice effect.

man, I would be scared to do the trick without the last vanish. It seams like that is what startles the specs off of the secret. I am afraid without it I would just be showing them how to do the trick. But that is probably just b/c my palm is so clumsy. My problem now is keeping the keys from sounding against each other.

one option would be to classic palm it and do a spider vanish, i dont know this routine myself so this advice may be unhelpfull.
