Raven-mini

Effect: Just like the raven, only the gimmick is smaller: The magician can visibly dissapear coins and small objects at fairly close-up distances.

Price: £10-£30 - can vary depending on where you get it and what extra bits you buy- available are dvds, additional gimmicks etc. Shop around, and if you can borrow a dvd, do that as its free!

Differences to normal raven: Although I don't have a normal raven, I can definitely say that the mini version is smaller, therefore particularly good if you have small hands. From what I've heard from others and experienced, there can be a worse 'clink' as the coin vanishes (I have solved this entirely- PM me if youre interested how). I'm not entirely sure of the differences in included extras.

What I think: Really good, and unless you are the master a sleights of hand with coins, you should really have one. Its a little hard to master all of the possible techniques, but it is very versatile, and if you spend the time, you can perform the effect in a short sleaved shirt with no trouble (this involves setting it up a little differently). Whats good is the range of possible effects with the device- vanishing things, swapping them and appearing things are all possible.

Pro's - You can learn the basics really quickly, and it can really add to a trick if used in addition to another trick/ routine. Good range of effects.

Con's - takes time and practice to master it completely, and is a bit too short a trick to stand on its own. Also hard (not impossible) to set up again mid-performance.

Ease of use (1 easy - 5 hard):
2 for the basics, 3-4 for the more advanced tricks.
