The Raven DVD is well worth watching, it has some really good ideas. The two main problems that people normally have with the raven is the 'click' when a coin vanishes or the problem about smooth operation. The Raven is really the kind of thing you need to practise really well before you even think about performing it in public. You should practise it in front of a mirror or even film yourself doing it. This will allow yourself to see what the audience can see.
Of course it is also essential to have the raven set exactly right to suit you, i have noticed that even a small error in setting it can result in the problems you are probably having. Are you 100% sure that you have the 'settings' right for it?
