Non-card effect

Postby katrielalex » Apr 7th, '05, 13:05

Hi there!

I was looking to make another magic purchase, and I was wondering if anyone could give me some ideas for good non-card tricks. I've been doing too much cards lately (IMHO)...

Coins maybe? Something like that?

Not to expensive hopefully 8).

List of non-card schtuffff...

1. Jay Sankey — Mercuring - Penguinmagic.co.uk
VERY good effect after practice

2. Get a TT and a good book on TTs

3. Jay Sankey's Revolutionary Coin Magic DVD (again, Penguin)

Biased? Me? Nope. I am simply uber eclectic, in a pro-Canadian lunatic type of way :)

Sankey's 3 Ring Circus: besides my sponge routine, this is basically the only piece of close up magic I do.

It's basically the linking rings routine done with key rings. It can be a very strong piece of magic and the rings are completely examinable at the end of the routine. It's well taught (as always with Jay) with no over complicated slights. You also get 8 bonus effects with it (9 if you buy it with Penguin) which I think are worth the money of the DVD in their own right!

It would highly recommend this.

From Penguin Europe it costs £17 but it is currently out of stock (I had to wait 3 months before it came back into stock!)

P.S. Do you have one of those Sankey T Shirts seige??!!

, I have this. I actually hated the linking ring effect - from the demo video and page on Penguin I thought that Sankey had come up with something new :(. However, the bonus tricks are good, and I use the sleight from Dowsing to do a "spectator picks the aces" trick...

1. This sounds excellent. Is it done the way I think it's done?
On second thought, you'd need to be psychic to answer that question.
On third thought, you are psychic :D.

2. TT...hrmmm...I really should get a hold of one of these sometime, but I've never really got around to it .

3. I'd love this. However, $60 is currently too much for me .

Kati... buy this: Silk to panties

You will not regret it at all. It's really cheap, you get a TT, and the ending is so funny - embarrass your mates, your Dad, your uncle who always picks on you... (sorry, too much information about my own life there...)

In short, it's wicked. In fact, buy a TT book as well, and you'll have no end of effects at your disposal.

Nothing short of brilliance, at under a fiver!
