If you are performing close-up then you might like to consider getting a mini chop cup from www.rnt2.com
Perfect for strolling magic and the cups are top quality. I just bought a copper mini chop cup and i love it. You even get the necessary "stuff" to precisely tune the obvious gimmick involved with chop cup routines

I have messed around with a chop cup routine for ages but never felt confident enough to use it in a performance. I had a 6 year olds birthday party recently withy a bit of a difference. There were only 4 specatators (plus parents) and i was going to be doing close up. So, I bough a bag of chocolate coins and played it as a guessing game where the kids bet their coin against wheyher the ball was in my hand, under the cup or in my pocket. The routine went down very well and the parents enjoyed it too. I finished with final loads of a potato and then a satsuma and made sure that all of the kids ended up with a share of the chocolate. Not how i had anticipated launching a new routine but it worked well
