The first show was magical. This one? Tiring.

To be fair, if i could pull any of the derren brown effects off with half the style and grace that he does, then I would be a happy man. Even when I have an idea of how he does something, which is far from always, i still feel utterly entertained, as I was on friday. So I have to disagree. The card effect with jonathon ross was excellent.

I think that my reaction may have something to do with the fact that I am not a great fan of mentalism as such...I much prefer quick visual magic (snap change, deck colour changes, AC...things like that).

When I see a good mentalism effect however, I am amazed.

I just think that the second episode was nowhere near as good as the first...

I liked the Derren Brown show on Friday, I actually saw that being filmed on the beach (there was more stuff done than was shown). I only got to talk to him briefly as a bunch of girls were after him. He was really nice to people when he was on a break.

Actually his real name IS Derren. That's the name he uses and that's the name he goes by. I would also put money on it that that i sthe name on his passport.

The only thing we could really say is that his birth name may have been Darren.
