So you like the coin and card stuff?

One of the best coin books (IMHO) is by Bobo. For gimmicks you may want to consider miracle coin unique, or buying a Raven (do a search as this prop really splits people, some hate it some love it). Good DVDs for cards are the Easy to master card miracle series. You may also find good books in you local library. One very good book is the Complete Course in Magic by Mark Wilson. That book covers a great range of magic and is really good. Another book that has been used a lot is the Royal Road to Card Magic (some pople don't like it though).
You will probably want to learn some basic techniques before buying a lot of expensive props from magic shops. Learn some basic card control and some coin vanishes with regular coins and that should start you off on the right road. Remember to practise each new technique until you can do it smoothly and with natural movements. I have seen many new people to magic that try to learn too much too quickly.
When you practise you may want to either film yourself or be in front of the miror. This lets you see what your audience will see and you will be able see if anything is not going right.
I started with a magic book, a deck of Bike cards and some normal coins. You will be able to do some great effects with just those items and of course you can move on to the more advanced work when you feel you are ready.
Was there one Blaine trick you liked the most?
Hope that helps and welcome to the forum
