Smoke, mirrors and a 2B pencil.

If you MUST use a pen, make sure it has blue ink. NOT black ink.

And don't forget the stooge in the crowd.

I find that the most difficult part of the routine is the sleight where you use a roll of invisible tape to seal the hole - but I'm working on it.

You cruel guys!

Bob 70011, you will find that most magic dealers sell this item.

It is available in £5, £10 and £50 note version. You can only use the £5 version about 7 or 8 times though as the note can't withstand as many uses as the £10 and £50 notes.

The self-healing of the paper makes this amazing to see, never mind perform!

Good luck.

I've got the necessary gimmicked £50 notes available at £100 each, or £175 for two.

PM me if you're interested.

How quick does the liquid paper seal on the restoration?

The ones I was using took about three seconds but a friend of mine claimed he bought a version that only took half a second - I think he was winding me up.

Ooooh you guys are awful - but I like you!!

Bob, the answer is that most of us know how it works and probably have one or two examples in our stash of magic (well, I have anyway!) but we can't tell you how it works as the secret isn't ours to share. Check out the various on-line stores for bargain buys of Pen Thru'/ Sharpie Thru' or similar titles and also your local cheapo shops as there are many basic magic sets for children which now include this effect - WOW Street Magic sets, sold at The Works earlier this year, are one of them and set number 6 has a Wand Thru' illusion - £2.99 or two sets for a fiver! Generally speaking, the same method is employed regardless of how expensive the props are.

Most likely - I would have sold it to you for £150 and that would have included plenty of spare holes for future performaces!
