Coin into tic tac box from magicbox

Postby pritch » May 10th, '05, 15:49

Hello I just got this. First impressions I must admit I was expecting something a little more complicated than this, it's very simple if even somewhat a bit crude because the gimmick has an imperfection that I have to cover with my finger or it becomes apparent that its not just a tic tac box. I did the trick on my sister though and she was pretty confused as usual so all in all it's a decent trick. I do however think the price of about £6.99 I think I paid, is too steep for what you get. I think about £3 would be reasonable. Oh I also ate the entire box of tic tacs and now want more.

I have to agree with Pitch on this one.
I also anticipated something a little more complex.
There are many uses as you can also make the ten pence come out with a mint or two.(I said ten pence as it seems to fit the gimmick well)

There is a bit of misdirection needed to hand the boz out for inspection as it involves 'pocketing' something.

The good thing is you can use ANY tic tac box.

The actual gimmick makes you think as if you were handy with tools or vacum forming then who knows what you could adapt the design too.

Got this today, I think its excellent. I'll be doing it in the pub tomorrow.

Shrimp, after the effect is done put the box in the palm of your hand and pivot it from the front into an upright position and take it in your other hand. Go to put it in your pocket and I suspect people will want to examine it (I'll tell you for sure tomorrow). At that point all attention will be on the hand with the box and no one will notice you putting the other hand into your pocket 8)

I too think this is a great little effect, quick easy and visual, well worth the money.

I also saw this and thought it was excellent, well worth a few quid. It reminded me of a similar gimmick that I bought (perhaps a Gatean Bloom one?) that was a ring or coin in lightbulb, with a similar method.

However, the tic tac box is much more user friendly!

I did this a dozen or so times in the pub last night and it went down very well. A couple of times people said that the coin was under the box but they were still baffled when I opened it and tipped the coin out of the end and handed the box to them.

I have a small question. How convincing is this trick? And can you rattle the box about with the coin in it?

Its very convincing, and yes, you can rattle the coin about, that's one of the things that makes it convincing.

I find it annoying that my pocket rattles as I walk arround.

I got this trick today (My parents were in Newcastle so I aksed them to get me it as its farily cheap and I wanted to see how good it actually was).

I am very impressed. Its such a simple idea yet it is very effective and the people I have shown it too were amazed. The simple cheap effects get great responces.

Really easy trick! Go get it!

Well I've just ordered it along with a comedy funnel. I'm a sucker for things like that.
The only problem being that I told my girlfriend I wasn't buying anymore magic fo awhile. I think if she doesn't actually beat the hell out of me I might be back on the singles market! Damn C.U.P.S
They better be worth it

This trick works best with a 10p and only 3 or 4 tic tacs in the box.

Yeh its a cool little trick. It's worth it. If she has a go at you...slap her...tell her to get in the kitchen and stop moaning...if that fails then I dunno.

Got it this morning and I have it down already...quite nice actually if slightly obvious.
I took your advice about slapping my girlfriend and sending her to the kitchen hence the reason why my private parts have retreated into my torso, I'm sat on an ice pack and looking through the singles websites. Thanks!
