SIMPLEX CARD TO WALLET ROUTINE

Postby dat8962 » May 23rd, '05, 21:24

I've recently bought a signed card to wallet routine that uses a two-way Z wallet. It's a Wayne Dobson wallet but I don't like the routine and am therefore asking for alternative suggestions.

The routine requires you to place a card into the wallet in advance. Using a normal deck you then force the same card in the deck which is actually a double sider. You turn the deck face down and spread under the pretence that the selected and signed card will turn over. Obviously a different card is shown, trick's gone wrong, and you remove this to the wallet. You then try again and it goes wrong for the second time (yuk - I'd be surprised if the specs don't start to wander off at this point) so you do then propose a disappearing card trick from the deck hoping that someone will notice and say that there's still a card still in the wallet which you then reveal to be the signed card. Obviously you can't show the back!

A horrible routine and yes, I bought a lame one. Can anyone suggest an alternative routine for using this wallet? Please PM me if you don't want to reveal in a post.

Thanks in anticipation.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

I'm not sure if I'm correct about the wallet but is it a switching one? (think that's OK...).

If so, there was a great idea for Twisted Sisters, where you use blank-face cards instead of Jokers. Oh, and have one red back and one blue back blank facer already in the wallet. Then, you patter about hypnosis and making the speccys think that their card is a Queen, where in fact it is just blank. Go through the trick as normal, except once you have spread the piles on the table and taken out the queens, put them both in the wallet. Then, show the blank cards, and almost as an afterthought, show the Queens to be blank.

This may be exposure but I don't think it actually reveals anything...
