Derren Brown in Edinburgh- Anyone else see him?

Postby SpineyNorman » May 29th, '05, 13:09

I noticed another thread about Derren in Torquay but didnt want to post there since the posts I read there were about how people didn't manage to get tickets and I didn't want to be the evil guy. :?
Just wondered if anyone else went and wondered what you thought of the show. I thought he was really great! I wonder if he always gets so *hyper* (is that the right word?) during the second half of his show!?
Got his autograph (and now I feel like I'm such a little girl :P ) and even though he was hurried he was still his usual, genuinely friendly self!
Grant.

He was on Norwegian television last night. Quite fun watching him, but, hmm, mind magic is ok, but I prefer other kinds of magic. It's ok at a certain level, but he stretches it too far to make it very interesting for the normal guy.

Now THAT'S an interesting angle and one that I agree with. Whilst I do enjoy watching Derren, too much is a turn off for me and I'd prefer to watch mainstream magic given the choice.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

i personally prefer Derren's style of magic it's far better than the same old same old a lot of magicians come out with it gets very dull & boring after a while

Anything that is highly refined is good enough for me.

Derren is very good at what he does, and it's innovative.

I'd still be fascinated by a steel rings trick, even though you know how it's done, if it's done well.
