Preferred setup and patter for ID?

Postby rcarlsen » May 29th, '05, 15:40

Since there is some dicussion about ID and such effects in another forum, let's discuss it even more.

How do you prefer to setup, or hows your patter on the ID?

I have had several different setups, but I am not sure which one is the best. I remember once, I trusted one of the spectators, and asked him to keep the deck in his pocket during the whole show. Now, at the end, I asked him to call a friend and let him decide one random card. I asked him to give me the deck, and... you know the rest.

Which setup or patter du you prefer?

I also have a variety of presentations including the David Blaine version of the thought of card turning inside the specs mind. I also do a multiple person version with different specs selecting the colour, suit, number of picture card, odd or even number etc. but sell this one as a force as I tell them before hand that I made a prediction in the deck by turning a card over before we start.

I also do the original with the spec handling an invisible (imaginary) deck that I then change into the visible deck. I end by removing the selected card and placing into a disappearing card case and make the deck vanish.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!
