This is my first video file posted so hope that you enjoy. I selected this as it's alittle different.

Couldn't get down to the 2MB size without losing too much quality so any tips are welcome.

I'm not sure what's going on - I get the video file on the right of the page when I click the link, but it onlyplays half of the video.

Can anyone offer any advice on how to re-post?

OK - seem to have fixed by uploading again. I've removed the links from the previous posts - please try this one.

Thanks for your patience.

Quite a nice effect, and a great kicker ending, but:

I think it takes waaaaaaay too much time for what it is. I mean, the first climax (where the pairs match) may look nice but it's no surprise - you expect that from the first. Is it possible to remove the MAGIC-ESP part and replace it with something quicker?

Just my 2p...

It is a long winded trick that is much better with the added patter and the spec handling the cards. The magic - ESP bit is crucial but perhaps there is another way, I've not found one yet that works and ties in with the crystal. The point is trying to get the lay person thinking that they are making it all happen through the crystal.

I've found that this suits a particular type of audience as well, particularly those into the new age or psychic scene. I'm wondering if it actually needs to be speeded up and is better done slowly, given the use of ESP cards rather than playing cards?

Perhaps others will comment on this.

I would have prefered to see you use patter rather than text messages, did seem way too long but with patter and audience participation in the right environment I'm sure it would work well.

Like the others, I agree that it goes on too long. The first phase seems pointless to me, but I can see how it's needed as a setup.

However, the effect kills itself since YOU mix up the cards this time. A smart spectator will immediately think you're arranging them in a particular order. This suspicion is only heightened by the face that you move the cards out of sight (something I would highly advise against).

If you could shave a few minutes off of the effect, it might flow more smoothly. My only suggestion would be to NOT move the cards under your table, like you did.

Some fair points here - thanks and I'll work on it some more.

I don't really think you need to work on it. I mean, your handling was, as far as I could see, perfect (well, apart from the cards-under-the-table part ) :). I think it's more a problem with the routine...it's too long...

Dat, I appreciate that you kinda needed to do the cards under the table, but couldn't you achieve the same by carefully marking the cards, so you can mix them up in front of them and still get it set up?

I thought that I needed to do the cards under the table in the video clip to stop people watching over and over again, in order to find out this part of the method (how the cards are mixed). It seemed like a good idea at the time (as most things do :P ) but realise now that there are other ways that I could have done this whilst achieveing the same effect.

The cards are very subtly marked and not in a way that the spec can see. This is how you manage the force at the end in order to get to the hybrid card.

Appreciate your comment Kati on the handling. I was chuffed as I don't consider myself as a card magician (although I can do the basics). I like doing a bit of everything but lean towards rope magic as a preference.

Your comments have all helped and I'll work on shortening the routine.
