I'm writing a column about magic and data visualisation. For it, I need a link to a great example of patter. I know a bunch but I wondered what examples you have.

What do I want: a 2-3 minute video of CLOSE-UP magic which is a great example of patter that's available on YouTube or Vimeo.

You lost me at close-up!

The only good example of close-up patter I have seen was a performance several years ago by the wonderful Dan O'Donoghue of the Gypsy Thread. This is his promo video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKB67YevMoQ
I can't find much more of him, but he has the charm of a storyteller and exquisite skills. Probably the only close-up guy I would look up from my pint to watch.

I am a major admirer of Dan. I know him fairly well although I haven't seen him for years. We used to work together in Blackpool at my close up magic theatre on the pleasure beach. And he sold svengali decks for me too. I have always considered him to be one of the best close up magicians in the world although he is not terribly well known among magicians and I think he prefers it that way. He is also very modest, an attribute I have never been overly burdened with.

You would have to go a long, long way to find a magician as good as Daniel 0' Donoghue. And I can assure you that praise from me is a very rare thing.
