Not sure what this guy is doing wrong with his pass, perhaps you can figure it out...

the pass has several ways of working. one you could do which is the one I do is get a finger break above the card you want to come to the top with your pinkie finger. tilt the cards down so you can basically just cut the cards as if doing a one handed cut. allowing you other hand to cover or hide this action

Why use the pass in the first place? Who many tricks are ther that you need to control half the deck, most of the trick you only have to control one card. There are much easier way to control one card side steal, cut to a break and many more.This is just one Magician openion whi thinks the pass is over rated and over used>
