Review
The Revolution Coin Vanish is an amazingly simple trick that requires no gimmicked coins, no previous setup at all. You can even borrow a coin/small object from your audience. It is a visually stunning effect, and will make them wonder "Where did that coin go" for hours (not guaranteed :p ). It takes barely any effort to learn, and can be mastered in a few hours if you are a decent magician (nearly wrote musician there, I think im crazy). You can vanish any small object with tremendous ease. Not only does this trick support vanishing, but also transformation and penetration  . The reviews at http://www.ellusionist.com/order/Revolu ... Vanish.htm all point in the right (positive) direction, and this is because this trick is phenomenal. You will be stunned when you realise how easy it is to perform it, and you will fool anybody you perform this trick for.

Overall
I give this trick: 9/10

Yeah I think I've worked this one out, and it seems a bit naff to me. The handling (if it is what I think it is) is amazingly done in that video but I think it would take alot of practice for me.

Its not very hard to handle this trick, just a simple little move. Quite amazing that it's so easy but so effective. 8)

Make no mistake - this is simply amazing!

Performed correctly (I had it perfected in a couple of days), this is one of the best coin vanishes out there.

It looks fantastic, you start clean and finish clean. I highly recommend it.

Undecided...

Postby RyanRDLPS » Jun 26th, '05, 09:09

I've heard negative reviews, than possitive ones. They seem slightly biased over at Ellusions.com...so I'm still a little weary. I'm looking for a clean visual vanish to add to my repretoire. I have been working with the raven a lot lately, and find it to be excellent the more determination and practice you place into it. It can even be done with a regular t-shirt! No buttonline, ect.

Anywho, advice? I'll skim through Bobo's book once more...but I'll tell you what that video made me drop my jaw! So clean! Reminded me of when Melt hit the scene.

Thanks, in advance!

I am not a fan of this trick, as it was stolen from someone in the past... i dont know who, i read about it somewhee on a a magic site. But yet again nobody will stop ellusionist selling these tricks that have been stolen, or are so simple they could be explained in 1 sentance.

Its very overpriced/

It wasn't stolen, it was a basic move in a coin amgic book that was just perfected. Brad goes over it in so much detail too. But I agree, it is overpriced. (you can probably buy the book with that and more in than the price of the download)

My Review

Postby The Last Deck on the Left » Jun 27th, '05, 11:33

I bought this from Ellusionist too, during one of those many moments when CUPS got the better of me :(

Anyway, in short, it does look REALLY good when performed well, but it is something that I’m not going to be able to do very often. Here’s why…

I think it is fair to say that certain routines need a certain set up, other than the actual trick itself. For instance, if I am doing a ‘card to an object’ trick (that I bring into view from under my coat) - such as a wallet, or stuffed chicken (not wanting to reveal any items I may have and give secrets away!) then chances are I might need some kind of loading device. This will therefore dictate how I dress, and I will need to wear items accordingly.

In a similar way, this Revolution Coin Vanish requires a certain set up (I’m not saying what). However, I don’t ever see myself being able to be ‘set up’ for this. I could get the set up ready for this, but it doesn’t match who I am and how I walk about 99% of the time. I do have the item(s) needed for this trick, but I just don’t use them in the way that is required!

My advice? – Watch the video clip closely, but look at the bigger picture, rather than focusing on the vanish itself. It you don’t see yourself performing in that very same style, and with the very same setup (absolutely all aspects), then I’d think twice.

(Mods - please delete any bits that you feel are inappropriate - I've had real trouble writing this without giving too much away, but I wanted to warn people that it may not be what it seems.)

:D
