Hey folks,

So I just got delivery of EB2. It looks great tho I haven't watched through the dvd yet, just as far as making the gimmick.

Having to use something 'the same size' is a bit frustrating as you can't change a bunch of fivers into 20's or something but hey I can hand draw some funny money My question is on the making of the gimmick, I've never used this rubber cement as mentioned, can you really peel your cash back off? I also don't have any rubber cement and am keen to have a go with it now! What do you do when constructing the thing? I thought maybe I could just print off a fake note to use as part of the gimmick but am curious as to how everyone else has done it...

A latex glue will serve the same purpose as rubber cement but without the solvent fumes which led to the old style rubber cement brands like Cow Gum being changed or even banned. Would 'Blue Glue' aka repositonable glue from people like Bostik be worth trying? That stuff certainly sticks but allows one sheet to be peeled off successfully like a post it note.

Yea, thanks Mandrake, I guess that's the way ahead, I'm just being impatient as per usual I wanted to do it at the wekend but with remote location and no shops I guess I'm stuffed unless I come up with something inventive, I've a few ideas tho. It's my girl's birthday

Asides all that tho I was wondering on the practical side of gluing 50 to something haha!...yikes...

This is one of the problems with tricks involving currency notes- the US still has the dollar bill which is fairly low value and is the same size as their other notes. The UK are stuffed in that respect with the smallest note being a fiver. I guess there will be even more problems when we change to the plastic £5 ad £10 notes ......

I need to find time to watch the DVD again and re-make the gimmick AGAIN ..... undecided which way this review is going to go at the mo, as the gimmick is a right royal pain in the ass to make .... watch this space .....

Well I've read one of Derren's books and was able to figure out your bank details just by the way you type things on here... that's how I was able to afford EB2

My rubber cement is now on its way Tho for the weekend I think I may just have to sacrefice a fiver. That said I haven't even practiced it yet so it could be sensible to make the whole thing from paper and see how it works out first. It could be a first for my being sensible...

Look out for the various things Steve Rowe has made that can be used to change into money - I have some of his banknotes drawn by children, and some of his specially printed lottery playslips.
A couple of dealers at Blackpool were selling them (I definitely saw them on Harry Robson's stall) or you can get them from Steve directly.

Not looking forward to the new plastic notes with the see-through window.

I didn't see any answer to part of your question, but just in case, yes you can just peel your cash back off. But always test it first.

Did you know?...English fivers are 7cm wide by 13.6cm long...however, some are infact 13.5cm long, and you may find the odd one that's 7.1 wide...What a right proper royal pain in the butt

It also turns out I'm pretty nifty but not as nifty as I thought with a pair of scissors when it comes to mm perfect cutting of paper to a specific size, hmm, maybe my pencil's not sharp enough

I found the same thing with my new trick (which I intend to review SOON).

All notes are NOT created equally - I had problems with the print not being perfectly aligned and even the metallic threads are not in the same place .....
