Invisible Palm. MY try at it.

Postby UndergroundMark » Jun 25th, '05, 23:03

Here is my attempt at the Invisible Palm Trick.

BTW I just figured out how to do this so give me a little bit of slack.

I couldnt buy the instructions so I had to guess so it might not be great.

Edit: I changed the video for a little bit better quality one.

I think you've got the hang of the trick even though I don't have the trick myself, I seem to have worked out how to do it before.

I think you really need to work on a better tent vanish to make it look more effective. Your hands are flat and the trick is called invisible palm. You should try to make the holding of the "card" look as though you are actually palming a card. Also, when you turn over your hand, don't move your fingers. Make it consistent and pretend you have a card there! It's illogical to move your fingers if you are palming a card.

I think you should watch Rune's video clip of the invisible palm (excellent) more for some pointers.

Thanks for the pointers!

BTW I am more of a begginer than anyting else though I know a couple of advanced tricks. So I would like to know. What is the "tent vanish"

The Tent Vanish is used in the Invisible Palm routine. I doubt that anyone will elaborate here though. I offer you my congratulations - you have worked out the effect by knowing what sleights are possible in card magic and, presumably, watching video clips of others performing it.

Some comments:

1. Very nice try, you got the moves correct.
2. Try to get a better camera angle, it is hard to see what is happening and it's really hard to see what you mean by "palming" the card, as one hardly can see what you do
3. Try to be even smoother with you card handling, but this comes with hours, weeks, months and years of practice....
4. Would be nice to have a credit on the last vanish :-)

You thought of the last vanish yourself? Indeed that last vanish is really clever! Although I find it hard to do smoothly.

After watching this video i fully understood the trick... i think the moving fingers gave away most of it.

haha.. you want some more credit Rune?

yes.. that sandwich used for the last ace is Rune's original idea!!

btw... geez... card handling takes awhile to learn... months into practicing and my fingers hurt... (I'm teaching/learning everything by myself (haven't bought any dvd's yet.. ))

bigger hands would kinda help abit... any pointers on card handling? like.. practice moves and exercises?

and also mark, pretty nice video... just uhh.. need some more practicing.
