Yes, that was some pretty impressive stuff. I am not a bad magician, and watching your video makes me realize how much of my perfermonce relies on...well, performance. A few things on there I could do...most I'm just learning. My favourite on there has to be the pass...awesome. And the cobra cut certainly is impressive. Im not into flourishes at all, but thats one I'll certainly learn! I was playing with the cards for an hour today, and I can do it all now except actually drop the cards and catch them between the cobra's jaws! But I can set the cards up to that point fine (except every now and then, when I don't balance them right on my finger!)

And I'd love to see the second deal, this time without the blank card on top...just to see what I'd be seeing if I didn't know it was a second deal. Does that make sense? Oh, and how long did it take you to learn to second deal like that??

As an amateur, i am very impressed, and also quite inspired to tell you the truth! Can all of those cuts and flourishes etc be learnt off dvds like 'Born to Perform' or 'Ninja'?

Using only half a deck, I can pretty much do the cobra cut all the time now. It doesn't look very slick if I'm honest. I can't quite find a way to flick it down into the jaws, but its quite satisfying! I'll let you all know when it's perfected!!

I really liked the 'reverse eidetic' (I hope that is what it is called). Very COOL :D

And again, looked very classy, especially with the black deck effects and the movie also being in black and white.

All in all, very good work!

I'm flattered, thank you all for your comments :) keep them coming.

To answer a few questions:

Jimbo, I will film a video of the second deal for you, I learnt it off Daryl's Encyclopedia of Sleights which I highly recommend to anyone. Keep up the work with the cobra, I learnt that move from a 5 second clip from Devo, there is however now a DVD that teaches the cobra plus other cobras including the mighty kind cobra! Keep practising with half the deck and then gradually add more cards, you will soon get there. For a bit of fun try it with two hands! :P

Ricky, I don't actually own born to perform, I have picked up most of them from various tricks here and there or on preview videos and just took the flourishes and filmed it all. A good DVD for flourishes would be the new one available at ellusionist called Xtreme Beginner, preview looks very good :)

Jacques, thank you very much, black and white has a very impacting image I think, especially with the black tiger deck as well. Glad you enjoyed it :)

Thank you all and best wishes to all of you and your magic :)

Hi Matt, I got a couple more questions for you if that's okay? First, do you know the name of that particular pass you do and where did you learn it? It really is awesome...I've watched it many times but when I come to try it (much slower of course), I just worry that I'm doing it wrong. Also, how long would you estimate it's taken to get it to that level?

My second question is about what you're doing with your fingers... I've seen that particular trick before and I'd love to be able to do it. Is it something that anyone could do if they tried? I'm the sort of idiot who would break his fingers trying to figure out how you do it! PM me if you wanna tell me anything that shouldn't be common knowledge.

Jamie.

:) Good! But it could seriously use background music. That would make it much more fun and intertaining.

The whole Video was fabulous but my favourite has to be your classic pass I have never seen one done as smoothly as that.

Well done.

Dean

back to practising my pass as I would love to have mine down as smoothly as that.

Thankyou all for your comments, makes me feel overwelmed :)

I learnt the Pass from both Ninja 1 from Ellusionist and From Richard Kaufman - On The Pass. Both are very good tapes that i would recommend to anyone.

The finger tricks were learnt from Meir Yedid's - Finger Fantasies which again is a fab tape that you MUST get, its such a good trick that i use alll the time and it gets the same reaction everytime! Very Strong!

I have various DVD's on many different flouishes and cuts, i just learn the ones that i like and think look smooth and natural to perform and that will fit into my routine, One hand revolution is a very good one yes indeed.

Best wishes to all

Matt

If you want to find a good pass, Ninja 1 is definatley the best. Ellusionist calls it the invisible pass, and I can't see why not!!

edit: and can anyone do the 1 handed pass?? I can, its worth learning

For the pass i recommend Richard Kaufman - On The Pass, however Ninja 1 by ellusionist is good for passes however Brad lacked confidence with teaching to a camera he has now when that was filmed it so isnt to the standard of ellusionist products today.

The one handed pass isnt a pass though is it, its just a subtle variation of a DL. Its taught very well by Daryl on the Ambitious Card and David Blaine also uses a very clever variation of it on one of his tapes (performance only)
