Silent Treatment COMING SOON!!!!!!!!!

Postby Tom Lauten » Jul 11th, '05, 10:27

Jon Allen has got a new one for us all!

If you think Jon's "Doubleback" is one of the best packet tricks ever created (I for one do) then his new AMAZING routine "The Silent Treatment" is gonna rock your world!

I will review the effect that has the magic world talking (or not as the case may be!) as soon as it is wrenched from the postman's hands!

Get ready...this one is as HOT as my pants!!!!!!!

The Silent Treatment sounds great. I have to confess that I love Jon Allen's effects and double-back is still part of my close-up set.

Just as an aside, the Ipswich Magical Society have Jon Allen performing and lecturing at this years one day convention (Sunday October 23rd), it looks like this years convention could well be our best ever. (Which reminds me - I have to update the website with details).

So anyway - back to Silent Treatment. Whilst we wait patiently for the review - could we at least have a short synopsis of how the effect plays - just to give us something to mull over (or should that be drool over).

cheers.

Ok...how's this...

Upon entering a room the performer silently shows a set of "boards". Each has something written on it. A spectator is directed to think of a playing card and after some engaging, written by-play, the performer offers one of the most startling and unexplainable conclusions you will find on the magic market today!

"Jon Allen has put together a professional-calibre routine - a perfect opener - that combines novelty, charm, humour and magic. As an added bonus, it is cannily idiot-proof." David Regal

“A stunning piece of magic and theatre, brilliantly constructed from beginning to end.” Richard Sanders

"The Silent Treatment is a great opener. It is novel, clever, funny and a fooler. It's hard to beat a combination like that!" Gene Anderson

“The Silent Treatment left me speechless! Another brilliant idea from the devious mind of my favourite English magician!” Boris Wild

”This trick is too good. One of the best openers I ever saw in magic.” Mathieu Bich

“The Silent treatment is a real winner. A great opener that draws the spectators into an unusual scenario that develops into an incredible magic effect.” Shawn Farquhar

“This routine offers atmosphere, expectation, comedy, fun and is topped of by a truly magical finale.” Nicholas Einhorn

"This is one of those killer tricks that you wish you had thought of. Great concept! Great Method! What more can you ask for? I highly recommend this lovely piece of magic." Angelo Carbone

"Silent Treatment" is a real attention-grabber. I can't be silent about this any longer. Read my words..."It's grrrrrreat!" Scott Wells

...apart from that, you're gonna have to wait!

Right, I have the "clearance" to post the website address but first a genuine request.

Do to the unique nature of this effect PLEASE do not "over-describe" or create an issue over it's main feature in your discussions about it. This will only diminish the fun for EVERYONE.

By all means look, watch, enjoy and make your decisions but this effect has a special magical something that will be done a great dis-service if it is even hinted about, please use your better judgement and value magic's tradition of secrecy...

...there you go!

This is going to be BIG!

I did an effect just like this in my close-up show at school. Except their signed selection disappeared in a flash of fire, and ****** **********. And the whole thing was silent. It was my opener, and failed miserably thanks to a dim witted assistant. :D

[Sorry, edited by Moderator...THAT was exactly what was asked of you NOT to do!! C'mon, be fair!]

I'm sure the posting above was a genuine mistake but for the sake of supporting magicians like Mr. Allen, we (moderators and admin) will edit any inappropriate or blantant disclosure of "The Silent Treatment's" unique-ness...again...be fair Let people discover this great routine for themselves.

In time all will be revealed but give the guy a break, OK?

-Thanks
