H'amateur Mentalist - Herts

Postby Piers » Jul 12th, '05, 15:42

Hello,
I’m 43, married, and a full time house husband, having been made redundant 3 years ago. Hobbies include my pilot’s licence, cooking, cars, 16mm films, American Horror comics, and other strange and diverse things, to make up for the lonely days of drudgery, in what is definitely, a woman’s world !
I live in a place called Gustard Wood, near St.Albans, Harpenden, Wheathampstead.
I’ve had an interest in magic for many years, but have only really started to get into it again in the last few months. Mentalism appeals the most, and I’ve been reading Corinda, Annemann, Busch, Boudreau and Osterlind, and finding out what suits me, and what doesn’t.
I’m spending some of my time trying to put together a 25 minute routine, that will make my wife speechless. Now that IS a challenge !
So if anyone lives nearby, and has a mentalist interest, give me a shout !
Best,
Piers.

Blimey! Anything over 30 seconds leaves my fiancee speechless...

Oh, ahem... right... sorry

Welcome to the forum, I'm sure your stay here will be beneficial, and as far as mentalism goes, we have some excellent talent here, so I am sure there will be advice aplenty!

(Mandrake's record so far is 3 minutes - and that includes the tea and biscuits afterwards)

Oh to have a pilot's licence... This is one of my ambitions to accomplish in the next 15 years. I am extremely jealous of you, Piers! Welcome to talkmagic.

Oh and Mandrake - tea and biscuits? It's nice to see you taking solids again...

That went right over my head. I think it even made a whoosh noise.

(Mmmm - choccy bourbons!)

Sorry for hijacking (or should that be hizacking! )your Intro Piers, back to the plot and welcome!

Have you found any ways to combine cooking and magic - apart from the cake pan type of effects? On at least six nights out of seven I do the cooking in Mandrake Towers but I haven't managed to really combine the two activities. (Apart from doing an Elmsley Count with the toast so the Boss thinks she's eaten more than she has!)

Hi Piers and welcome - You've got it the right way around, sending the wife out to work whilst you're at home practicing.......

Hi Piers,

Welcome to Talkmagic! Your just down the road from me. I live in Harpenden Herts at the moment. I dont really do much mentalism myself, except for some esp stuff, but that does not mean I am not interested in it. Have fun!

Hello and croeso to the loony bin.

25 mins - I get trouble remembering 1 trick at the moment. I think I got goldfish syndrome.

Cheers
