Hi Guys!

Just thought i would let you know that the childrens museum, called Eureka! is opening a new exhibit which is called the Maze of illusion. They are having a press launch day on the 21st July (8 days away) and they have invited me me to be the magician for the day for the press and for visitors to the museum- ive never been so excited about a booking in my life!

When this is properly confirmed, i will give details on performance times, etc.

Cheers

An extatic Mark!

Where is 'Eureka!' Mark? I can't go (did I mention I'm on holiday next week in any threads so far?), but others might want to know. Sounds like one hell of a gig though!

West Yorkshire - try googling it :).

Even if it were near, I can't go on a workday :(...

Hi guys

Well, its confirmed completely now, i will be at Eureka between 10.15 and 11.15. I think its a VIP event, but there will be many members of the press there and part of the event involves me giving interviews for tv and newspapers etc.

To learn more about Eureka, visit: www.eureka.org.uk

Any Press stuff will be posted on here and i suppose you could get into the museum as that isnt closed, and if you let me know if you are going, i will make time to have a chat after the event.

Cheers Guys!

My old drama teacher is infact related to Gordon the Gnome, AKA Alan Titchmarsh, they are brother and sister and he presented me with a prize!

I will take some photos on the day, but apparently my download limit has been reached, so i will email them to you, Paul (if thats ok) to put on this thread.

Thanks for all your support guys, got a lot of work to do over next 7 days for it, got to be at my best for the telly!

Well done Mark. Sounds like a plum gig! Be sure to let us how it goes. Have you got a routine in mind, or are you trying to put something together in the next few days? Whatever, the best of luck. Enjoy it aswell!

Hi

In terms of routine, i have to do 3 15 minute kids magic spots and some photo shoots and interviews. My kids show is 45 minutes long, so im going to split it into 3 and restructure it.

Could you possibly help me though? They have asked for some ideas of optical illusions for photos and tv etc, and one suggestion was that i produced a pair of scissors to cut the ribbon, any ideas on how i could do that, then please PM me asap, as i only have till thursday!

Cheers once again

Mark

How about making one of those Marvin Magic boxes that shows empty and then full? Shouldn't be too difficult to make, easist trick in the world to perform and will easily make a nice appearance for the scissors.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

Ive come to the conclusion that the best moethod is a devils napkin. Looks clean and is simple to do. I was contemplating a body load at first, but wouldnt work too well, considering the object.

Hi Guys

Well, today was the day, and it was ver sucessful. The Tv didnt turn up (although were booked for the event) but i managed to get my face in some papers, deffinately the Yorkshire Post, Halifax courier and possibly the TES.

The boss of the museum came to watch me and was extremely impressed with me, also, the idea of me going in at some point to do workshops was suggested, which would be great.

Overall, a fab day. Not as high-key as i was told to expect, but still very sucessful, and if i can get some workshops there, it would be great.

So, next question, any ideas for workshops?

Cheers

Mark

Congrats Mark, sounds like a great day you had. :D

Will might be a good person to speak to about workshops as I believe he does them himself.

Congrats again
