Card packet seals or cellaphanes

Postby Salsa Jack » Jul 24th, '05, 16:01

Anybody know where I can get new card packet seals or even better whole new cellophane wrappers?

I have seen them advertised but can't remember where.

no idea, but you can make an already carefully peeled off one again, if you took it off by undoing the flaps at the top, you can pull it up then twist it, so it makes new flaps.

I find that you can unpick the bottom and then reseal with a spray mounting adhesive.

This works for a lot of the wrappers on cards and many, many, many other things!

O.K. I'll admit it - I do watch Police Academy

I agree with vic. If you go through the bottom, there is less chance of detection. Another personal favourite is cigarette boxes! Just take one cigarette out, load it with a card (with torn corner, if you have an "I") then stick it all back up.

Blows people away, trust me...

This site sells seals and wrappers -

http://www.empiremagic.com/docs/card14.html

Just scroll down to where it says Cheaters Seal.

I know ellusionist sells deck seals - and I'm pretty sure they sell standard seals, not just the ones for the Tigers and Vipers.

Hope that helps.

I unpack from the bottom and have also printed myself a series of seals which can be used to replace torn originals)

Cost is aerosol of adhesive for bottom and some laser/inkjet labels for the seals

less that $12 but lead time can be heavy (or suppose I could modfi my files to pdf and put them somewhere with link)

I'll try that and post when done if that would be a help,

Vic

Diolch yn Fawr for the help guys.

I do note the suggestions of unpicking at the bottom for reseal, however I was hoping to hand the 'Brand new' deck to a volunteer/spectator and let them rip open the cover and seals.

Gingerly picking it open myself for later use would spoil the hoped for effect. Perhaps I will save covers off other new packs when I buy them for replacement purposes.

I will try the site given as a link and thanks for providing that.

Also thanks to Vic, would still appreciate your suggestions but got lost in the middle of your last 3 sentences.

Cheers all

I have put two files in a directory for download - if you would like a copy of the bike seals, please pm me and I will mail you back the location.

Please ask if you will use them but if this is just for interest, remember that I have to pay for the amount of stuff downloaded so please use some discretion.

Thanks,

Vic

Jack,

If you open the bottom and re-seal, anyone can be given the pack to open as robustly as they wish and they wouldn't get an inkling that they are not the first.

There's no difference between my way and purchasing of new wrappers insofar as the audience is concerned but a great difference if you do a lot f tricks and have to pay for labels and wrappers!

HTH,

Vic

Not sure about other programs but MS Publisher has many label templates which can be used to print off your own sticky labels if you buy sheets of the corresponding labels from Staples or similar places. You can easily make up a seal which looks genuine without having to copy one, thus incurring the wrath of the copyright police! Also try asking at a florist or flower seller's stall and see if they will sell you some of the cellophane they use to wrap bunches of flowers. It can be cut and glued around a deck and nobody will suspect a thing. After all, it's unlikely that any spec will be used to removing such wrapping on a regular basis so they won't know whether your deck has genuine wrapping or not. The best part of all is that the evidence is destroyed as soon as the spec removes the wrapping!

Mandrake, can I put my seals on this site somewhere so they can be downloaded?

To be honest, I'm not sure how we would go about that, perhaps one of the more technically qualified geezers could advise - any thoughts/suggestions folks?

I either unpack from the bottom, and get at the cards that way, leaving the cellophane on - or i keep my old ones, and re-use them. I also use the stickers which can be bought very reasonably from Cards4Magic.

If you create a folder on the servers (called 'downloads' for example) and drop files into to it. when someone goes to a link that thakes them to it (www.splodge.com/downloads) this will display a list of files contained within the folder. Access rights have to be restricted so that they can't open the parent folder and bingo.

Thanks - all that kind of stuff has to be dealt with by the forum owner these days, following the hacker attack a lot of the inner workings of TM are off limits to everyone for security purposes but I'll pass your details on to him and see what can be done.
