Actually, I think I may be agreeing with you now, as the more experience you are the more easily you come up with new alternatives to the dated effects as the things that date are the presentations (or at least presentational ideas) not the methods.

I totally disagree with the above, in my walk around act, I do my own version of the Chinese Bit....which is a great trick in itself but the supplied instructions are far too long... that said, at the end I do a one coin routine with the chinese coin producing it from my nose, my arm, my knee etc and finally producing a very large Chinse coin from behind one of the audiences head.....this gets a great reaction from the audience........so to say it doesn't cut it any more is not true......
