This is a review of "The Invisible Zone", a trick that I purchased for about 12 English £. It sounds quite expensive, but the effect that it creates is really very good.
If you don't know what the Invisible Zone is, here's a quick description: You display a small plastic 'box' with a big square hole in the middle and holes at either end which are just big enough for a biro to fit in to. There is also a spring which goes into the square hole, which adds to the effect. Finally, there is a flap that covers the big square hole.
What the trick involves is you display a solid biro, (yes, it's solid), and then you display the box, with the flap up to cover the hole. You then proceed to push the biro in through the hole at the end and all the way through. The other end of the pen actually comes out of the hole on the other side. However, when you push the flap down, the audience can plainly see that the middle of the pen has vanished, and only the spring is left! You can then put the flap back up and pull the pen back out. To finish the trick, you can repeat the whole process but this time WITHOUT the spring!! In fact, you, or even a spectator, can put your finger RIGHT THROUGH where the middle of the pen is supposed to be. This is a very strong effect and nobody I've done it to has guessed the secret.
Some people when you show them this trick are actually amazed.
The pros of this trick are the very strong effect that it makes, and that a spectator can pass their finger through where the pen should be.
The cons are that the pen can't be examined and also nobody can be standing behind you when you perform it, or it won't be much of an illusion!
I would recommend buying this if you want a straightforward trick that doesn't take any sleight of hand but provides a good effect.
