Peeves?

Postby ouch-kabibble » Aug 29th, '05, 14:20

I was wondering last night if any of you guys have any kind of pet peeves, of the magic variety? I personally get frustrated when some kind of gimmicky street magic item is reviewed buy some amateur, and they say that the trick 'Really Frys!'. . That really gets on my nerves. Do you have any similar annoyances, something that really burns your marshmallows?

I have 2 peeves.

When you go to see a magician and he does 240 tricks in 15 mins normally to music.

My other peeve is magicians who end every trick with a smug smile that makes them look like they have just re-tiled there bathroom and done a really good job.

Well back to work for me.

My major one came from when I worked part time in a magic store, I have mentioned it a number of times but I relly hated it when proffesional magicians (usually children's entertainers I'm afraid) would come in and ask for a trick that didn't need any practice!

I still find it hard to believe that there are idiots out there who get paid to perform and yet think it is possible to buy something on a saturday morning for that afternoon's show.

magicians that will say stupid things to their audience!!!

as an example, i was at one of my local magic clubs and there was a visiting club, all the magicians were pretty rubish. This one guy picked me to take part in some really dated and stupid trick where spots appear on cards.
Anyway becuase i have a high skill lever myself I was not too impressed and tried to look as if I was enjoying myself for the sake of the performer, but then he said something that really P****d me off... he said..."You don't look to impressed with this" I kind of mumbled, yeah it's good. (I feel like a piloc for lying)
then later he said the same again. It was the last straw for me, i said, it's not very impressive.

I felt a little bad but i was pushed! that is my pet peev! asking questions which u really don't want answered!
