There are loads of ideas and suggestions on TM for these items but you'll need to use the Search function to find them. Check out Dan Turcott's download as a starter.

Dan, tell us more about yourself... I say this because your profile says you're a magician. One of your posts says you're a children's entertainer. Thing is, you don't have any idea of a sponge ball routine, nor do you have any ideas for a change bag.

You can put your age and skill level in your profile too(click here for info), this'll help us with what you're actually looking to get out of TalkMagic.

We love to help, but all your questions are a bit, well, for want of a better word, simple. Too simple for a children's entertainer, anyway.

It's great that you're keen, you obviously have a passion for magic and you even have a favourite magician. Brilliant. Just give us more info about you, so maybe one day you can become someone else's favourite magician. Does that all make sense? :D

I hope I've not upset anyone...

Sorry, I have been known to rush into things!
Im Daniel, 24 and have been a childrens entertainer for just over a year and a half.

Buissness is looking good but I mostly do "silly tricks" tricks where things are suppose to go wrong eg. wand to silk

Before I became a kids entertainer I studied mostly on adults doing card tricks eg ID
I do do tricks with spongy balls but my routines are far too adultish and my patter doesnt relate to children.

Thats why I say Im an Amature magician

Thankz

What sponge ball acts do you do with adults? As i have worked with children i am interested to hear about your act and what you do. The sponge ball routine for children i did was the classic "make a ball vanish from your hand and appear in the child's hand" and cutting a sponge ball into two.

Well when I used to do adult shows with the spongy ball routine I used to add jokes ( too inapropriate to say ) as well as telling them they `stole` my balls and making the balls disapear and reapear in spectator pockets.
And if a spectator asks " How many balls do you have?"
i simply say " 2 you cheeky thing!"

With the sponge balls you can do so very many routines. You really are limited by your own imagination.

There is: (to name but a few ideas for routines)

(All done with normal, bog standard sponges of different size and colour, no need to get the 'special sponges')

Growing/Shrinking Sponges
Multiplying/Diminishing Sponges
Ripped and Restored Sponge (A personal favorite)
Many magical productions
Many magical vanishes
Sponge Ball Assembly
Bowl Routine (In a book by John Tremaine)

A really nice Sponge Ball routine is Mark Wilson's one, found in his Complete Course. Also, Pat Page has another good one too (but that is to be expected)

Hope this helped a bit.

Stephen - sorry to disagree but if you pick the right lady then she'll be very disapointed with the sponge version!
