Ok, I have a question for you all...
There's a trick that David Blaine performs and I'm wondering what it's called. It never appeared on any of his TV shows as far as I'm aware, but it was on the deleted scenes of his "Mystifier" DVD. The effect, in the chapter list, is titled, 'Don't Bother Freeze Framing' and I have spent a long, long time practising it! From what I gather, a lot of people on here don't like David Blaine, so not sure how many of you own the DVD. I would like post a video of myself performing the move, but don't have the equipment to do it so will have to describe it for you all...
Taking the deck face down in the left hand, and holding the right hand palm up a foot away from it, the performer flips the card across to the right hand, the card flipping face up for a split second before landing face down in the right hand. Make sense...? I thought so. Then the card is flipped back from the right hand and back, face down, onto the top of the deck where it started. (It took a little practise to get that part right, but it wasn't too difficult.)
Now the hard part... takes loads of practise... Taking the top card in the right hand, and preparing the next card on top of the deck, the performer flips the pair of them across to the opposite hands, one card flipping high and the other low so they don't collide in mid air. They both flip face up and then land face down, switched. Looks absolutely amazing.
Does anyone know what this is called? Can anyone even fathom what I'm on about?
