The thing that bugs me about ghosts (other then the off center printed backs obviously) is that in the printed advertisement and a lot of the video they are shown as being off white, almost antique in color. Which was a big let down when I opened them the first time and found them bleached bright white. Not very spooky if you ask me. They just don't have the character that they seem to advertise.

And now with the gaffs (skull kings are my favorite for some variation in my 2 card monte) available in red I have little use for mine anymore.

Although: The clubs and spades do make good color fusion gaffs. And if using a blue or red sharpie to match the deck telling the spectator to sign the card and now visualize yourself pulling all the blue ink off the card.

It didn't seem to work :?: No I didn't mean your signature, (unfold card) I meant the card...

The big problem I have with ghost decks is that laymen gennerally think that they are trick decks. They gennerate a lot of susspision. I just stick with regualar blue or red bikes.

the trick is to use the ghost (or other original card design) cards for effects that have no set-up so you can let the spectator handle and examine the cards, and use all the stacked and/or gimmicked effect with regular red or blue bikes.

it is a nice deck of cards, however in my opinion the new red bikes Master's deck is better! finally a "normal" looking deck made to the quality level of the unique decks.

I use a Ghost Deck when I perform Gaeten Blooms "Immortal" effect. Its a two deck trick and I use a reg. Bike deck for the selected card and the Ghost deck for the story and revelation that the card selected was the only card missing from the deck. they never say thats a trick deck because they are counting the cards one at a time faceup and never see their card and only 51 cards in the deck. The Ghost deck makes the effect a little eerie feeling.

A little while i went out a box of "second" bikes and i tells ya! Theres no more mistakes than a standard deck! Both you'll often find is the edge proportions like in the picture showed and i suppose occassionally you get a scratched symbol or number.

12 packs, £12.

So much more worth it, as long as you stick them in a regular bike box otherwise people think theres something FISHY!

It's rare that someone suspects anything of such decks and tend to think you have a "posh" deck rather than a gaffed one.
I tend to use the darker looking decks such as Vipers and the unusual ones like the Ghost, for effects with an occult or supernatural theme. It's the theme of the effect and the story they are concentrating on rather than the cards, so the cards become just a tool that's used which, by their appearance, enhance the supernatural flavour to the effect.
I often comment that playing cards were used for fortune telling before tarot cards were invented and that the deck is based on a design from that era, hence the unusual appearance of the cards.

After all the comments about the ghost deck, im not too sure if i should buy one now. What i really want is a deck that i can use a ghost gaff deck with. (I have a Blakc Scorpion deck with 4 gaff cards which work great but i can only do 2 tricks with them). I want to know which deck will work with a ghost gaff deck which will just let me do complex tricks without any giveaways with the cards or too much suspicion.

Ghost Deck

Postby dominicmanofmagic » May 10th, '09, 00:12

honestly think that the Ghost deck looks to much like a trick deck to use out when I am busking but I have eight at home for practicing new tricks.

I had a pack delivered today! I quite like them... will probably use the odd card in a regular deck as a transformation of a card..... Vampire sucked all the blood out of your card etc...... or maybe not !!!! :D Awaiting my Karnival assassin cards... to go with all the other packs I don't use!!!!
