Mex Transpo

Postby Mark Smith » Sep 14th, '05, 10:58

Hey, this is my first video post so please be gentle with me!

This is a typical two card transpo effect. As it stands the sleights aren't greatly performed and the method is a little suspect and in some cases just downright cheeky! And yes, I admit this trick was born out of a sleight I wanted to use. Tut tut.

Its the first effect Ive come up with myself so really its not so much a performance as more a desire for tips and suggestions. It does need work, and I dont really mind so much if people here can see whats going on. That may even help with people's suggestions.

Anyway, hope it works and I hope you like it. My first ever video post - Mex Transpo.

Yeh, Ive changed the link now! Thanks for trying though! Its quite a large file despite being relatively short, so just give it time to load! Thanks again. Mark

I waited a while and though the file eventually played, there was only some clicking noise and no video.

I had the same problem as Demitri here. You're not having much luck with your first post, are you? :?

I've had problems with putfile.com before, and I found reposting the vid eventually works. One way is to try the link yourself before you post it here.

Also, yousendit.com is pretty good, as it allows people to actually download the file for themselves. Only problem is I think there is a limit to the amount of downloads you can do, so I only really use it for PM'ing people a video.

Hmm. Grr. Thats a pain. I'll try one of the other sites and if that doesn't work I'll just have to push the computer onto the floor. The link works for me however, so it may be something to do with my computer. It is old and cranky now. Flint-powered I believe.
The file is an .avi, which seems to cause problems! So it may be the case that no one can see the trick. In which case.....its an amazing effect which has no logical explanation and would have blown you away! Honest.

Hi

I can see the trick now.

Well done for performing your own trick and I personally thought the slights were fine and the fan at the beginning was lovely.

I do think you need to work on some patter for the trick as I did get a little lost as to what was happening.

The other thing I would recommend is if possible try not touching the right hand card as much as you are putting heat on it before anything has happened and it did look a little untidy.

Hope this helps

Oh, there should be patter! I hate my computer so much!!
Thanks for the compliments, and I wholeheartedly agree that the performance was untidy at best! Ive only been into card magic for a few months - so any compliments are very much appreciated!! But as I said its not so much a performance merely an indicator at my ideas, and so to spark off suggestions, either better sleights, or even just to lose the whole idea.

But thanks so much for watching it and the suggestions! Mark
