Struggling with an effect? Any tips (without giving too much away!) you'd like to share?

I do this effect with just hearts and spades one and diamonds and clubs on the other. Each card has it's pair eg-5 spades with 5 clubs

Not once have I ever been questioned on it and Ive done it 100s of times.Litterally 100s!!

Trust me I know

Yup, mostly the same order here. Hearts and spades on one side, and all suits in strict interleaved numeric and antinumeric order. No one has EVER questioned any of it, and once they take the card, that's the only focus.

The ID ridiculously strong.

Seconded. I remember bringing up the same subject a while back (I had it in the other order at the time) and I'm with everyone else - nobody ever notices a thing

It also meant I made a lot less mistakes

Have to agree with Flood and Tomo. Decades ago when I was working behind the counter at Mecca Magic in New Jersey, I must have demonstrated the ID hundreds of times. My deck was alway set up with the clubs and hearts on one side and the spades and diamonds on the other. I was never called or questioned on it.

I always showed this set-up, which greatly simplifies the handling, to those who purchased the deck.

Good thoughts,

Bob
PS - That said, I have always preferred the Brainwave. Unlike the ID, it hasn't been included in virtually every magic set released to the public over the past several decades.

I got odds of harts & spades and evens of diamonds & clubs one one side, and vica versa for the other.
They are paired with the same number with the same color suit, really easy and a little less suspicius as you see odds, evens and all suits

That's a really nice setup.
