Royal Road to card magic???

Postby ultimatecreate » Sep 27th, '05, 12:30

Hey there! Im really gettin into all this magic stuff (grabbed a loada my dads old card magic vids) and im gettin quite nifty @ some of the sleights. I can safetly say i know many of the basics, and ive jus discovered the Royal Road to card magic - is it any good? What skill level is it based around? Im also gagging 2 get in2 some coin routines - matrix's, vanishes etc etc. Are there any vids/books that can take you from amateur to pro that come highly recommended?

Cheers people ;)

Look forward to hearing from you

Alex

There are plenty of posts about this book on here... I'm sure there's a wealth of info if you search for it.

It's a good starting point for card magicians in my opinion, but then you have to judge it for youeself. If you find learning from books difficult, then maybe you should look towards something like 'Born To Perform' by Oz Pearlman instead. It's a DVD.

Anyway, read the info on RRTCM, and hopefully it will help you along your own road into card magic.

I am a big fan. You will find many differing views on here but if you have a copy give it a try. I learned the basic sleights and some neat tricks from it and regularly refer back to it

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

Yeah, sorry ultimatecreate, this is rather a can of worms as you will see if you look at other threads regarding it so I am locking this one just to avoid going over the same ground again.
